Through its history, TEA has helped museums protect their collections on exhibition, through travel, and in storage conditions. One of our oldest programs is our location insurance program, which is especially helpful to small institutions when they borrow traveling exhibitions or organize short-term temporary projects.
More recently, we have shared space in our fine art storage facility with our members on a short-term basis as they plan for facility expansion or renovation or when traveling exhibitions are between venues. We also offer longer-term storage arrangements, offering safe, low-cost climate controlled storage for artifacts museums hold in the public trust.

Why are we a Non-profit?
Unlike for-profit design firms and consultants, The Exhibition Alliance exists solely to serve the museum field. We are highly motivated to provide exceptional service at modest cost, maintaining the lowest possible margins on the services we provide for a fee, and providing as much free technical assistance as possible. Our focus is on building the capacity of the organizations we work with through education, providing them with the new skills and knowledge they need to serve their audience more effectively.
What we do
For more than thirty years, The Exhibition Alliance has partnered with non-profit museums, historical societies and galleries in New York State, providing exhibition-related services to not only improve their exhibitions, protect their collections and serve their local communities, but also to strengthen bonds in the arts community and increase the connection between large and small organizations from New York City to the smallest communities.
